I feel really bad.
I left a feedback something like this
"Has all my money, has the coin, has not responded to 8 + email, Bid + PAY = STRESS"
Left feedback yesterday... and got the coin today... (ever get the feeling that somebody up there is a prankster)
The worst part, wery very good coin (better than I expected), good shipping job... and Nice letter... great deal..
I bought the coin on April 22... I sent payment on April 25... Money order... No way it takes more than 5 days to get payment... that leaves 19 days for me to receive item, but nothing.
I got coins from that same city and I get them in a week...
The seller went form 50 active auctions to nothing, and did not respond to any emails.
I figured the guy stopped selling and left me to hang out to dry...
Was I wrong? Maybe the guy went on vaction and my item got lost for a while in the mail? Edited by StupidSid 05/19/2006 9:02 pm

Don't feel too bad about it. If I spent money and received no coin, no response to 8 or more e-mails for weeks, saw that he wasn't selling, I would have assumed the worst too. You should however go back and edit you negative to reflect the receipt of the coin. Guy might have had health problems, family emergency, something out of his control.
This kind of thing happens, usually to me, I call it the "foot in mouth" syndrome. Happens to all of us. Glad the coin turned out to be a winner!!!

The fact that the seller wouldn't respond to emails is reason alone to leave a negative feedback. Feedback is about the whole transaction experience, not just limited to receiving the item.
I would have done exactly the same in your place.

I concur with Margaret in that anything could have happen to the seller. Until we are sure we should never assume the worst. ebay has the tools whereby you can pull the seller's details to obtain his/her phone and a simple phone call may have allayed your worst fears. Your first sentence has summarised your feeling....do the only honourable course of action left to you now....remove the negative....

Margret how do I edit my(his) feedback ? I checked the post mark on the letter and it says May 15... So the guy is not on vacation but it appears he has taken a break from ebay and is not checking his emails etc... I also forget to mention... I was really ticked of and after I filed the feedback I filed a claim with ebay.. now ebay is doing an investigation. lim188 - how do I remove the feedback, from what I understand only ebay can do that and only for reasons like name calling or using a persons first or last name (saw that one on the people's court)

Sid, Go to ebay home page and click on site map on the top of the page. It will list sellers and buyers tools and all other options. You should be able to find help there.

Sid, I'm not sure how you can remove the negative, I've never had to do it. I do know you can add a comment/response below the feed back to say that you did receive the coin and were pleased with it despite the lack of communication. Maybe you can call the seller and see about withdrawing the feedback? Someone may be able to help you with changing the feedback from a negagtive to a neutral, not sure how that works. I've only bought from ebay a few times, and never had any problems. Good luck. Margaret

At this stage, yu have one of two options open to you:
1. Use "Follow uo to Feedback you have left" and then underneath the FB you have posted leave the appropriate comments along the lines of "coin received - has been a misunderstanding".
2. Has the seller left you any FB? Positive or otherwise? If he has and the both of you are agreeable, the both of you can file for removal of FB by mutual consent.
There is also another one more option, though I am not 100% sure if it is still available to be used, and that is to deal through square trade. However you have to pay to use this option.
My recommendation is for you to use option 1.

I agree a followup feedback is in order and should be done soon,, but it wont change the user rating drop that the seller has incurred.

The seller is back to selling... has not contacted me and has not responded to my emails, has not left feedback (yet)
Does this change things? Should I let things be?
Also, how do I follow up? I can't find a link... I think the seller has to follow up first?
Doing this will not effect the sellers raiting but alteast people who read it if / when he starts selling again will not be afraid to buy..

I don't feel so bad anymore... I feel the situation is as fair as I can make it. I am not 100 % happy with the sellers actions or lack of action but I at the same time I got a good coin and I let that be known.
Just wanted to add... Thanks for the advise and help, I did not know how to do the "follow up" thing but now I know, it was a good idea.

I didn't see anyone post this, so I thought I should add that you can also mutually remove negative feedback. The negative comments are left there, but with a comment that the feedback has been mutually withdrawn. This means that the negative doesn't affect the seller's overall score

Does he need to leave me a negitve for that to work? Anyway he does not respond to any of my emails. The only responce was to the ebay claim I filed, he said he send the coin... and I closed the file...
