Nice year.It has to much scratches to be MS64 IMO.So I'd say 63.Not the best pic though.

The Red Book has this note for the 1901 P: Authentication is recommended. Beware of altered mintmark. With the value of this coin being so high I would probably go with PCGS because if you decide to sell it will go at a higher price than the other grading companies.

wow a downgrade still happy with that though since it was free and could atleast fill a bare spot I have. and hmm a Philadelphia Morgan doesn't have a mint mark, and from the luster on this one I dont beleive its been taken off. Anyhow like I said it was given to me by my grandfather so itsa keeper no matter what

Bryan, presuming it doesn't have a tampered mint mark (sure can't see any signs of it in the image), it appears to be a later strike 1901 which were weakly struck. However, even given a weak strike (which can mimic signs of slight circulation), I think this is circulated as evidenced by Liberty's hair above her ear and forehead: not enough detail for a Mint State. AU-50 to -55, but I don't think it would make the cut to AU-58. I'd also be interested in the grade a TPG would give this. Fred

Without looking at the others, I would guess 55-58. It doesn't scream UNC to me... but the picture leaves a little to be desired. Now let me see what the others said. Wide range there... I am assuming you plan to get this jumper slabbed? The difference in AU and UNC, I would say it is definately worth it.

I think they may have been a product of a bad first image. He had already edited the image once. I wondered the same when I first read this as well.
