I'm looking for a good informational book on the Morgan dollars. Of course I have a 2007 Red Book for values, but what would you suggest for a History/Value book on Morgans.
Thanks,Terry

I use "A Guide Book Of Us Morgan silver dollars: A Complete History and Price Guide" published by Whitman. It has a least one page dedicated to each year AND mintmark. If you go to Amazon.com and look up the book you check out excerpts from inside the book. I find this book really helpful. You can order from Whitman, Amazon or might even be able to find it at you local Barnes and Noble.

Also, "Comprehensive Catalog and Encyclopedia of Morgan & Peace dollars" from Van Allen and Mallis ( VAM book) is helpful if you are into it.

Hope this helps!

The Comprehensive Encyclopedia is an amazing source of information, and is absolutely required reading for any Morgan collector. For pricing, acquire a subscription to the Greysheet and keep track of Heritage, Teletrade and ebay results. Values change over time, and no book is an accurate reflection of what your coin is worth today.
