Do you think this one would make a XF-40? Any other thoughts? Thanks.

I don't have it in hand yet, but it was sold to me as XF. I think it may have been cleaned way back, but it has retoned in a nice natural way. It is another upgrade for my 7070. Thanks Murty for chiming in.

VERY nice!! I agree with Murty, easily XF40. The obverse is nicely pristine with just a bit of wing wear on the reverse (and that could be mostly weaker strike in that area.) All in all, a VERY nice coin! I haven't seen too many as nice as this one.

I like this coin, looks EF-45 to me.

I agree with a solid EF-40 details grade and EF-45 isn't out of the question. If the photos are accurate for color I suspect the coin has been cleaned. The uniform grey tone does not look original to me and I would expect a TPG would flag it, either for cleaning or "altered surface".

Received the coin yesterday and Jaobler is right on. It would not slab in my opinion. It has obviously been dipped, but it has nice features and I got it at a good price so into the 7070 it goes. Thanks.

I agree it is XF based on the details visible in the stars on the obverse. It's a beautiful coin in my opinion, cleaned in the past or not. I'd love to put that in my 7070!
