Today was the first day I got back into roll hunting, just a little taste. 3 rolls of halves(nothing good) and a roll of dimes. While chatting w/ the teller she told me shes been saving the old ones of quarters and dimes, she sees them more then old halves. Turns out she just saves them in the drawer. I got 10 silver rosies and 4 washingtons at fv. I like my bank...always a prize! Next weekend, I may pay her a visit again

Thats what I thought I dont think I'll be as lucky again this weekened though, it was sweet tho, filled 5 holes in my rosie book. the other 5 were 64p&d's. I'm going to try out some nickels this weekend...maybe a box worth.

boxes are the way to go with nickels, there are enough in a box to get something good.

what is a 'rosie?' never heard that term before.
And my best luck has been in nickels and halves. It is tough to fidn halves even at the bank anmore, but abt 15 years ago I remember gonig into my bank and asknig for $150 worth. The teller said, 'you're in luck. I took in $600 worth this morning.' She had msot of them on the side of her conuter as the drawer was full, and when she started counting them out I noticed that the rolls all had writing on them. Some said 40 and some said 90. She must not have known what that meant, but I did! I immediately asked her for as much as I could afford, which was $390 total. about 2/3 were 40% and the rest were mainly 64 kennedys and franklins with a handful of walkers in there.
boy, I miss the good old days...........

Went to the bank again, hoping for some of last weeks luck to continue. Talked to the teller (didnt dump off last weeks coins) and requested 7 rolls of nickels to try a sample out and recovered 5 pre 60 jeffs. all mm'ed yet common so it wasn't too bad. Next week I'll have to see about some more, the nickels are just right...chance of silver, old ones or odd things...and they still can be fed into the pop and snack machines at work hehehe.
anybody else find any other then halve goodies this week?

Definately the nicest War Nickel I've ever found in a roll. Two of the boxes I did this week had nicer than average find War Nickels. I was really hoping to find a couple more like this. Maybe the next box! LOL

Back in the mid 90's, I worked 3 years for K-mart. They actually paid us in cash for the first year and a half that I was there. I got to know the ladies in the "cash cage" and they always saved all the "weird" stuff for me. Mostly it was like $2 bills, halves, dollar pieces. I wonder how much they get now with everyone using ATM cards.
