If a coin seller doesn't have a return policy and sends a coin different from the the coin in his picture and since its not the same coin and you want a refund is that covered under paypal? OR its your loss for buying something without the return policy?
Reason I'm asking this is I've come across auctions with a picture of a slabbed coin but the seller says it was removed from the slab as he placed it in an album but he's not posting a picture of the coin in the current status, he's only showing a picture of the coin when it was slabbed.
Thank you.

If hes not willing to send you a picture of the coin in the current state and has no return policy, I would walk away fron the auction myself. Too many negitives.I don't think Paypal would help you much it that situation.

Did the seller specify that the coin pictured was the one for auction?

Yes, his description states that its the same coin. Here's the item # 8422531895 This is the best price I've seen so far and I think nobody's going for it because of what I mentioned before. Let me know what you think.

I see no room to complain about that auction. Greasy, yes. Illegal, no.

SuperDave, the auction is legal, no question about it. But if a seller sends a coin different to the picture posted when he specifically states its the same coin, surely thats against ebay policy?

Absolutely. However, he's stated in the auction that the coin is since cracked out of the holder, and the pics weren't of enough detail to conclusively prove that he didn't send the same coin.

Hi, Just for future buying. If you ever pay for an item on ebay through Paypal, and do not get what you were led to believe you would get, Paypal does have a process to complain and get your money back. They seem to side with the buyer and will return your money, as long as you file a "item significantly not as described" claim, and then jump through their hoops. :-)
