My friend bought this for me as a gift a few years back of ebay.He bought it as a celtic coin, but I'm not to sure.I've scanned a few celtic coin sites and havent found anything similar to this, any ideas as to what it may be?
it measures 18mm across the face and is 2 mm thick.I am unsure of the metal.

Welcome to the forum! Hope we can help.

It's not Celtic, or anywhere ancient. Looks mediaeval or early modern, and looks like it's made of lead to me; there are countless varieties of lead tokens from Britain in the 1700's with this kind of broad style. A quick search on the UK Detector Finds Database didn't turn up an exact match, but the closest thing I've found is this one.

Thanks for the welcome.
And thanks for the help.I reckon you're right about it being lead.
The token you linked is the closest pic I've seen,so I will let my friend know that the guy he bought it off was celtic, not the token :)
Cheers.
