Gold bug is still biting. Since I'm working on completing my gold type set with "motto" and "no motto" coins, I purchased one with a "motto". Basically the cheapest certified problem free coin I could find, as buying a Saint is expensive to begin with...

I think it will be pretty decent looking in hand. Opinions?

I am so glad I bought my gold coins for my 7070 when I first started the album because I would not be able to afford the ones I did get at today's prices on what I get from disability

Nice coin with good luster and mostly small marks. The ding on Liberty's right knee and the scratch below DOL on the reverse are noticeable. It's cool that you picked up a 1922 since that date seems scarcer than the common 1924, 1927, and 1928 dates.

I'd guess NGC called this MS-62.

Thanks! NGC gave it AU-58, which means I will have no problem cracking it out for my album. Of course there isn't much difference in value. :-)

That's a very nice 58. Many of these in up in 62 holders and that one just missed.

I think you should feel lucky, at least he bit you in the right place! That bite also gave you good taste in coins.

Received the coin today, and it is very nice. The luster is dazzlingly brilliant! I do agree with NGC's grade of AU though in hand, especially when comparing to my 1908 no motto BU saint. The reason for the grade imo is that the obverse devices(liberty)has very little luster remaining, if any. The fields are chalk full of luster, but not liberty herself. Oh well, AU-58 is one of my favorite grades anyways. Here are some additional pics after freeing her from her plastic prison. My MS-62 1908 NM $20 Saint has much more subdued luster in the fields, but also much more prevalent on the devices. Here are some pics of my 1922.

And here is my 1908 NM just to keep in good company.

Yea. Nice coin. I think the only thing that affected the grade is the wear on her left hand.
