Today some one email m and said they would give me 10 times face value for any us coin I have that is pre 1964... I have some junk pieces and a lot of less desirable dates... I email him back and he said that he will pay 10X for ANY denomination.

Do you think this is a good deal?

I have about 550 coins that fall into this category.

Silver has slid back a little recently but I would agree to seek a higher offer.

Once you quantify any of the 10x, 12x, or 14x etc it becomes more of a consideration. All depends on how advantageous it is for you to dump right now. Each person has a different buy price for when they originally acquired the silver so if it is a good or poor deal is dependent upon your original investment. I would also doubt that the buyer means literally any denomination. I would assume they are referring to exclusively silver. No nickels or Pennies.....if not, then I have a few hundred lbs of wheats I could part with! Good luck

If he wants to buy 1964 nickels for $0.50 each, I say sell him all that you can.

Ten times face is wholesale buying price and is reasonable for quick cash. You can get more than that on ebay but you will pay ebay fees and could get shafted by an unethical buyer so there is a little more risk. If your buyer is local and paying cash it is reasonable.

Now having said all that is there something you need the money for? If you are going to use it to pay off debt or to buy something you want much more then by all means do it. If you just want a few extra dollars in your pocket to blow you may wish to hold off a little longer. The market is down because of light trading for the end of the year (Christmas and New Years) but I suspect it will get better in the first quarter of next year. Best wishes on however you play it! Sincerely, John Leckrone

I would think he ment Silver coins only. Not pennies or a 1944 Cent would get you ten cents regardless of condition.
All in all I would really always check for errors prior to sending anyone anything. And always remember that if you do send anything through the mail it could ACCIDENTLY get lost. Not sure how does the postage and insurance work here.
