Couple of questions. (will probably get lamb-basted here :) I was taught that it is actually hub doubling. Some say die, but in reality it was a die that made the obverse. Going in reverse here, die from a working hub from a master die. Correct ? And also, is it possible that more than one working hub with this obverse was made and used ?

Dies were impressed on a working hub twice prior to the recent single squeeze hubbing era. When the second impression is not aligned with the first, that is what creates a doubled die. Hub doubling is the technical name for a doubled die but the doubling is on the die not the hub. However, the hub is the source of the doubling.

A hub is the opposite of a die, the design is in relief. Check out this link for pics of medal hubs, a die made from one of those hubs, and the resulting medal(scroll down the page about half way).

Okay, I'm not sure exactly what the question was in the original post because the language is a bit hard to read...but I'll answer what I think I saw as the question.
Hubs make dies. There is no term "die doubling," that's a misnomer used by people who are either confused, don't know the subject, or just choose to use improper terminology.
Hub doubling is the cause of doubled dies. It's the hub that causes the doubling, hence the name. Doubled dies are the result of hub doubling. A longer, older, and less commonly used name for them is "hub doubled die".
I hope this helped.

Thanks all. Now I see. I had thought on this particular coin that the hub was made incorrectly with the relief being doubled in the first place.

Yeah....no. The hub is normal...it's the die that has the design doubling by multiple impressions from the hub.
