I went today, he had hardly anything never going back there again. I bought a 1882 S Morgan Uncirculated. It looked really nice for 21 dollars was this a good deal?

Was it his decision, or yours, that it was Uncirculated?

Mine, it is a nice looking coin. Not many scratches. Nice to look at.

Yes, please do try to post a pic so that the Morgan fans can see if you did ok.
Just because he had them all in a pile there may have still been some good dates and maybe even condition for your starter collection. That can often times be a sneaky way to come across a good "find".
Stick with this group - they'll get you going in the right direction. Did your Dad help you pick out the Morg?

I bet if I searched a random pile of 200 silver dollars, I'd find one that would pay for the whole bunch. Or die trying.

The 07 Book for your new addition is $25.00 for an AU. A pic would help everyone to see if you got a good deal. Have you looked at this coin through a glass? Minimum of 5X power. You should look at the rim for nicks, see how clearly defined the breast feathers are on the eagle as well as the top of the wings. Liberty should be clear if it's as good as you think and there should be nice luster to the coin. Can you give us more details cool? The group really wants to help you here I'm sure, especially the Morgan bunch. Maybe if you can post a picture of it on the Coin Grading thread-

I would add to that, if you do not yet have a 2007 RedBook for U.S.Coins,get one. That would help you also.
