Recently I saw many people ("darksiders") have fun collecting world circulating coins and silver bullion coins (Britannia and Kookaburra). Thus, I was thinking to start a new project for collecting world crown sized (bullion/commemorative/circulating) coins - one coin from each country. I have been searching the information about popular world silver coins and came out with the below list. Could you please help me to expand the list? Also, if you know a good way (except ebay) to acquire these coins, please let me know? Thank you in advance.

A list of world crown sized bullion (first priority)/commemorative (second priority)/circulating (third priority) coins - one coin from each country:

Afghan 5 Rupee (added by snowman)
American Silver Eagle
Australian Kookaburra
Austrian Maria Theresa Thaler (added by Turtleoverhead)
Bermuda (2002) EIIR (added by nohope587)
Canadian Maple Leaf
Chile Por La Razon O La Fuerza (added by Metalman)
Chinese Panda
Finland 10 Markkaa (added by thq)
(?) France Piece de 15 euro (added by SeriousCERES), ECUS (added by thq), Union Force Hercules (added by thq)
Germany Thaler (added by xshift)
Great Britain Britannia
Italian Eritrea Tallero (added by xshift)
Mexican Libertad
New Zealand Lord of Rings (added by Metalman)
Peruvian Sol (added by snowman)
Russian George the Victorious (added by oih82w8)
Somalian Monkey (added by oih82w8)
Spanish 8 Reale (added by snowman)
Switzerland Alpine Ibex crown-sized coin (added by SeriousCERES)
Zambian Elephant (added by oih82w8)

Thank you for the persons who recommended the coins to me. Still confusing about my intention? I am just trying to come out a list of large-sized silver coins for each country. Thus, I can use the list to guide my collection. I hope that I can acquire at least 60 purdy large sized coins from 60 countries.

Not sure of the accuracy of this listing;

The most common world silver bullion coins, preceded by minimum guaranteed purity, and the year of introduction:

99.99% 1988 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf
99.90% 1982 Mexican Silver Libertad
99.90% 1983 Chinese Silver Panda
99.90% 1986 American Silver Eagle
99.90% 1990 Australian Silver Kookaburra (minted by the Perth Mint)
99.90% 1993 Australian Silver Kangaroo (minted by the Royal Australian Mint)
95.80% 1997 British Silver Britannia (from 1997, proof version only. Public issue from 1998)
99.90% 2008 Austrian Silver Vienna Philharmonic
99.90% 2009 Russian George the Victorious

If you are wanting just bullion then it's going to be a small collection if you wanted OFEC.

It'd be a much more rewarding collection and experience to go for silver coins in general.

For a couple areas that I collect passionately, I can recommend some bullion choices that you might like for your project.

France issues 15 euro proof commemorative pieces that are silver with a 'modernized' version of the classic Sower figure from the 3rd and 5th Republic francs. Here's an example of one from ebay.

Switzerland has annual mint sets in which there's always an attractive crown-sized coin, often a beautiful representation of some Alpine animal, like eagles and ibexes. These might be cupro-nickel, but I'm not entirely sure; they'd certainly look nice in your collection.

Best of luck,
SCS

Thank you for your opinion, GraceOutcast.

I thought most of the mints around the world produce 1 oz silver bullion coins. It seems it's not the fact. I will expand my world coins project to include silver bullion and large-sized numismatic coins.

Thanks, nohope587. I just took a quick look of your website. It's very impressive. It seems that I can pull out some coins from your list.

If you're going to have an Austria thaler, you gotta add (at least) one from Germany And don't forget the Eritrea Tallero.. although I don't know if that would actually qualify as Italy.

Edit: Looks like it would be Italy.. there's a very good post from Sap on the history of it here: https://goccf.com/t/3730&whichpage=2#26983

Where are the ecus! Where are the Union Force Hercules! One from every branch mint! One for every monarch and Republique!

Tough choices. You may never get out of France.
