I have several peso's from Mexico that I have bought over the years especially when silver was way down and I was going through them today and I like the strike and design of this one and it's probably my best one.

Very nice, I like the 8 reale coins the 8 reale is actually the denomination.

This one appears to be EF but it could be low AU.

the large peso's say Un ( one) peso on them they also use a different reverse, note the foot of the eagle and the snakes tail just to mention a couple.

Metalman, could you please explain your comment
"I like the 8 reale coins the reale was actually a 10 D denomination."

The "10D" is part of "10Ds 20Gs" which refers to the fineness of the silver. The denomination of the coin is 8 reales, the "real" (for silver) and the "escudo" (for gold) were the standard monetary units in Colonial Spain and the Mexican Republic.

Jfransch

Thanks for bringing that to my attention, I had done an edit on my post and then didn't proof read well before posting and moving on.

I assumed it was an edit issue, I was trying to figure out the missing part of the sentence.

I really love these Cap & Ray 8's. Thanks for sharing! Do you have any others from your hoard that are equally as nice?
