What have the forum members been doing for the Satin Finish coins in there Dansco albums?
I have blank page in the back in of each album for the satin finished coins.
Has anyone heard if Dansco will include a slot for the satin finished coins.

I have not done anything because I do not like the fact that they introduced the equivalent of "proof lite" into the mix. All of my denomination albums are full, so all ultra-modern coins are going into a miscellaneous album with blank pages. I have already decided to keep the business strike and proof coins separated. Having done that, if I decide to go after the satin finish coins, I can just add some pages without having to move coins around.

Man this bugs me sooo much! I know Dansco will make custom binders but will they make custom pages? If not I think there may be a market for them! I have some ideas on how they could be made but it could be costly.
I was thinking of those decals that can be custom cut and then applied. Ya know those ones that you peal off one side, apply to the page, then peal off the clear backing. What would be a good price for a way to customise blank Dansco pages? $5.00, $10.00, would $15.00 be out of the question for a Dansco page that each hole had exacly what you wanted it labled?

Someone had mentioned here before that they used the clear printable mailing labels to label their blank pages and even cardboard 2x2's.

I did nothing. I added a 2009D Satin Finish Nickel to my Jefferson Dansco because it only asks for a 2009 D. LOL

I guess it would depend on what you want to do. You could just buy the Dansco replacement pages (page 4 and 5) for the P & D album. It would not say satin finish but would have all the correct state names and mints. Not sure if you could add two pages, may have to put them in a bigger binder, either a blank one or have Dansco print what you like on it. Here is a a site that has the pages, I am sure there are more. I am having problem with a order from Wizard coin, but they do have a good web site. http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/pro.../index4.html

I'm so bad I havent ordered any because I can't decide how I want to set them up yet. The satins and the silver proof dimes & halves are the reason I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I'm gonna check out the custom printed pages as soon as I get some cash!

Having no experience with Dansco Albums, and only limited use of Whitman Classic Albums, I'm curious what the pros and cons are between the two products. From what I see they both use clear slides to protect the coins. I've notice that most of the albums on this forum are Dansco. Is Dansco the best way to store and display the coins?

I've used both types over the years (45 years or so) and I think Dansco has the best quality albums. The old Whitman albums used to add a nice rim toning to the coins after they were in the album for about 7 years or so and I actually like the rim toned coins. I use Dansco now exclusively and I actually build custom Dansco albums for my custom sets that are not produced by Dansco. I buy the binder and the blank pages in the sizes needed and then build and label the album I want as a set in my collection.

I do not know if there are pros and cons between them other than the size and colour.
For the record, I use Dansco because that is what I was introduced to. I could have easily started using the Whitman albums.
Some will say that the Dansco is better made. Having not used Whitman albums and only having limited exposure to them, I cannot say if that is accurate or not.
