Color is off from picture. Color is the same as the reverse.

If the color is the same on the reverse...i'll take a jump to MS67.

My guess is 60 because of the blemishes on the reverse

This is why I wanted to post this!! Those darn lines on the reverse!! I have always disliked them and find them distracting. Goes to show you that even a top graded coin should not be purchased online without good pictures of both the obverse and reverse. Please take this as a lesson to all!

I wonder if that would cross over to NGC

Quote: I wonder if that would cross over to NGC Why would I cross it? You thought it would grade MS-60. Do you think it would grade higher then MS-66 from PCGS?

My take on this coin, given the lofty PCGS grade which is does merit mark-wise, is that the fingerprint did not etch itself into the zinc plating until after it was slabbed. In other words, the fingerprint was fresh and more or less invisible when graded. It is a similar situation to a coin grading full RD but becoming a RB after a number years in a slab.

I like how Scott Travers described grading on an A, B & C level for each numeric grade. For example a 66A would be a 66+ or close to 67 while a 66C would be a 66- or close to 65. He said this applies to all TPG coins. In addition, CAC only stickers coins that they deem to be 66A or 66B if their assigned grade is 66. 66C coins would not get a CAC sticker and this Lincoln seems to be one of those 66- or 66C coins that is "low end for the grade".
