I used to carry a 1922-p Peace dollar once and a while, birth year of my gram or I'd carry a 1886-o morgan that just begged to be in a pocket.

They make a unique sound when in a pocket with other change.

Mine's an 1877 Seated Half that has environmental damage. It's also my ball marker on the golf course greens. I've had to retrieve it from my playing partners on several occassions. One guy really wanted it, so after getting it back from him for about the fifth time, I got him an 1861-O (he's a civil war buff). He's left mine alone since then.

This should be of no surprise to anyone, but I used to carry an Eisenhower dollar with me all the time. I am not sure when or why I stopped.

I don't carry a coin with me. However, I have several dollar coins on my office desk, including a Morgan, a Peace, an Eisenhower, and a silver eagle. These are great topics for small talks.

I have carried an 1898s Morgan for some time now. Almost every time I dig all my change out of my pocket to pay for something at a store, the cashier asks to look at it. It has caused many a conversation to strike up!

I carry lots of coins in my pocket at all times!
I have to, I pay in cash.

Oh, you meant a special coin!

My "Lucky ASE", bought from a 7-11 cashier's drawer for $1 in 1993!

For Training purposes
I carry a small coin purse
which contains

1 US One Cent coin
1 US Five Cent coin
1 US Dime coin
1 US Quarter Dollar coin
1 UK Penny coin
1 Australian Penny coins
1 Canada Ten Cent Coin
1 Canada 25 Cent coin
1 US Peace dollar Coin and
1 US Dept of the Treasury Coin

I also keep a folder in my vehicle with a current US 1, 5, 10, 20 & 50
dollar US Federal Reserve note.

I use the coins to demonstrate that "most" people in the US can not identify a
one five ten and twenty five cent coin.

Most call the US one cent a penny
most call the US dime a 10 cent coin and most call the US Quarter a 25 cent coin.

The UK and Australian Coins say penny
The Canadian coins say 10 & 25 cents.

The Peace dollar was given to me as a gift to carry
and the challenge coin prevents me from having to buy drinks when the time arises.

I use the Federal reserve notes to train people how to identify counterfeits.

Coin collecting is Fun

This post is not to cause controversy
It is what I do to get people to think about what they handle and use.
I also get to teach a lot of history from the coins and notes

We have a lot of fun
I hope your collecting brings you fun

I was given a 1920 Canadian large cent by my Grandfather in the mid 50's and I carried it around until he died in 1975. Since then I haven't carried a specific coin in my pocket. This thread is making me think it's time I start to again.

My father started me going through penny rolls back in the 50's and my Grandfather handed me the 1920 Canadian large cent and said "I bet you won't find one of these" and then gave it to me.

You got a problem with that? I'm just messing around, whole threads have been devoted to arguing that topic.

I don't believe I've ever heard a dime or a quarter called by those other names.

Don't forget the nickel. Everyone calls it that, but it isn't what it says on the coin.

I was looking through Walkers yesterday and meant to put one in my pocket, and forgot.
