I think that mark that runs along the rim is copper plating issue and the "doubling" above TED is zinc showing through the copper plating. It's kinda hard for me to tell by your pix for sure about the TED, sorry.

maybe, I've seen simular from the crimping tool at the end of a mint roll. Had to be a hard-sharp strike from something to crack it that way.

Here is something I've seen on a few coins. The edge of the coin gets covered in a clear grease. Moving a tooth pick over the area loosens it.
