There is a member over on treasurenet that makes them for reasonable prices. There is a thread on there that shows some of his work.

We tried to make one out of a Walker...got a little impatient during the hammering process, which made it a little uneven. Had to remove a lot of metal after that to make the outside perfectly round. My kids want to try again sometime.

Why not just take a piece of Stainless Steel pipe and cut off the size you need. I've made a few of those. Same with Copper piping, PVC piping or almost any pipe and in the process, you don't ruin coins.

Hopefully, none of those people were born in 1916 and hate Barber coins.

What about making a ring for a date of 1972 from a Lincoln Cent Double Die?

No one is out there trying to make rings out of Lincoln cents, it would be too small for a finger
