No one is out there trying to make rings out of Lincoln cents, it would be too small for a finger

Very obviously you do not have a wife of kids. And a Lincoln Cent Ring would fall off many of my wife's fingers. For sure would fit on many kids I know. Possibly two fingers in one for my Granddaughter.

Is your wife a skeleton Carl? A ~10mm ring is not going to fit on an adult finger no matter how many times you state it. The smallest ring size, 0, is 11.6mm in diameter. The average women's ring size is 7(17.3mm) and the average men's size is 10(19.8mm). Infants and young children(the only segment that a micro-ring would possibly fit) should not wear rings because they are a choke hazard, any person fit to be a parent should know that so don't state that something is "very obvious" when you don't have a clue what you are talking about...

Steps in making a coin ring.

1. Get any piece of junk silver quarter, and a tablespoon of some weight.
2. Hold the coin edgewise and begin tapping the coin with the spoon. The coin will take on the curvature of the spoon as you tap. It takes a goodly amount of time to do this, so assume you have a week, and some patient family members. Hearing Tap Tap Tap for a week will require sedatives for some folks. I drove my mom bonkers- as I was 15 and this was the only way I could get a steady ring for my girlfriend. (Last century, if you are keeping score, whippersnappers).
3. Keep rounding the coin until it gets to the approximate width and size you want. .
4. Using a small drill bit, drill multiple holes near to the inside diameter of the ring.
5. Get a set of jewelers files and cut from drill hole to drill hole.
6. Smooth the rough areas between drill holes with the smooth jewelers file, and smooth the inside diameter to make it Comfy to wear. One cool thing is that the date remains on the inside of the band when you are done.
Get yourself some super fine grit sandpaper and make the outside look exemplary, then use Cr**t toothpaste, (which also chews the enamel off your teeth one application at a time as well) and polish it until super shiny.
This ring is super sturdy, having a center rail much like a surfboard. Very sturdy keepsake. You could make one from a dated Silver proof set quarter, for a grandkid or relative.

Biokemist, did you look at the style of rings shown in the first post? That style of ring will be close to the same size as the diameter of the starting coin. So a Lincoln Cent ring would be 19 mm in diameter. And like other rings they can be stretched on a ring mandrel so you could actually make them larger in diameter than the starting coin.

I don't have the patience it takes to make a silver ring with a spoon, but a couple of years ago my brother ran into similar instructions to what legend posted and was successful at it. My brother was also a wizard at finding four leaf clovers in the yard and Indian beads in the driveway growing up. I've never found a single one.

To give the spoon a little more weight he filled it with epoxy cement. It still took a LOT of beating though.

I wouldn't mind owning a few coin rings. Especially since I wear rings quite often. I saw one on ebay, but it was way to expensive for what it was. I'll keep searching and eventually will find something more reasonable.

Also rather explains it too. I've seen really small peices of pipe turned into rings for girls when we were kids. And those were small. As I said you really need to meet more people.
And those rings are really great looking. I'd like one too but couldn't wear them. Knuckels over sized from Arthritis.

I think nohope is out of the country for a few months. The rings shown in the first post looks like the ones made by the coinsmith. Here is his ebay items http://shop.ebay.com/thecoinsmith/m.html?
