[eBayItem]370336124755[/eBayItem] How can you have a "Three Day Auction" when there are 29 days to go?

My guess is that the seller was going to do a 3 day auction and then decided to try a 30 Buy It Now instead. They probably forgot to change the listing. I've seen this seller before and they seem on the up and up to me - good pictures and description usually. I don't think I'd buy a Trade dollar that wasn't certified though. I always would worry about counterfeits. I wonder why a higher grade coin like this isn't in a slab. Ken

There are still old-time collectors out there who don't do anything but raw coins. On ebay, this seller and Randall Holder (rpholdercoins) stand out; I really like perusing both of their offerings. I would say both get occasionally....enthusiastic about grading and pricing, but the coins are a joy to behold.

Frosty44 is the one I bought my Trade dollar from, I would say he is one of the few I would even consider buying a raw Trade dollar from as long as you use caution. As far as why would you dip a coin question, wasn't very long ago if a coin had toning on it you couldn't give it away so just about every toned coin a seller had got dipped

yeah people may think so now but as I said not very many years ago no one would touch them with a 10 foot pole, no matter how many colors they had. it was in the category with damage back then, that is why so many of them have been dipped

I have to believe almost all of the coins of old, that TODAY have the EYE GLEAMING LUSTER APPEAL that so many grading companies look for have been cleaned.....you cant have a hundred plus year old coin in blast white MS 65 condition.....there has to be some kind of cleaning, yet some cleaning has taken place and is acceptable.......As noted many coins lost there eye appeal from the colors. and many today realize the colors represent real coins that have surpassed the trials of times.......and yet today we see many an ebay auction of false toning......ITs a crap shoot.... I hope to get mine back soon, I know someone used a cloth on it. got hair lines when it comes back! there might be something about it......let you know then
