Being an ebay seller on one side, and having purchased a few of these similar "deal" long ago, I'm going to have to say leaving negative feedback was unwarranted. The lottery ticket examples were spot on.

In the sense that the "older" Wheat Cents aren't "common"....this is why the most common ones are called "common dates" (1930's, '40's, & 50's)....they're the ones you're MOST likely to find in any batch. But people "seeding" common date pre-searched batches is all too common I'm sure too. The only way to TRULY get "unsearched" Wheaties, IMHO.....is to get them at Estate Sales or Estate Auctions. Many of these are when someone is moving or there's been a death in the family and part of the "auction list" is COINS. You can score some unsearched batches quite readily at these. They're often not sorted and just in a can or container of some kind......even the auctioneer has no idea what dates are in there ! .....nor does the family selling them.....there's no 2x2's or "slabbed coins" or even albums......just a coffee can ! .... Sometimes there is of course.....it just depends on "who" and what level of coin collector the estate belonged to was. But I'm just saying that, at the smaller estate auctions.....that's where you can often score "unsearched Wheat cent" batches !

It is amazing there are to seller's that always have rolls that have a 1909 VDB one one side and it is always the reverse of this coin and sometimes they have rolls that a VDB is showing on both sides. What are the odds on that!!

sorry to say, unsearched on ebay usually means "ive searched these coins and put nice looking ones on the end", its not the sellers fault its the buyers fault

I think they meant a 1909 vdb on one end and a proof on the other.

125 bones for an "unsearched roll". If I could only put away my ethics for a while I'd be quite rich.
I don't even know what to think about that.
