Last-second sniping does not guarantee a winning bid. Late bids in a live auction allow for open competition, since there is the "Going once, Going twice ..." call. Last-second bidding does not guarantee a winning bid. Last-second sniping on a CCF auction is clearly within the rules ... and guarantees a winning bid. However, this lack of open competition has always struck me as unfair to the other forum members who cannot respond to my bid. This is why I choose not to snipe CCF auctions. I prefer to treat other forum members as I would like to be treated, even though the rules do not require me to do so. (In all honesty I did snipe a CCF auction once, with 7 minutes to go ... boy did I feel guilty. ) Report this Post to the Staff
