The reverse of the Morgan with SLQ design on obverse would be nice.

I think Queen Elizabeth II should be removed from any and all coins. Wow, is she one ugly lady.

Quote: Is it time for a new Silver Eagle design? Be careful what you wish for; they might end up making them very unattractive. Quote: I think the Dime is overdue for a design change. I agree. It is currently the oldest complete (obverse and reverse) circulating design.

Quote: I agree. Or changing the Presidential Seal. That's been changed on several occasions. I have no objection to changing the ASE, but it needs to finish the legal 25 year period between design changes first. And who the heck is Stewie Griffin?

I do not think 23 years is too long to keep one design. Consider the following coins design runs: US cent 1959-2008 = 49 yrs US nickel 1938-2003 = 65 yrs US quarter 1932-1999 = 67 yrs US dime 1946-present = 64 yrs and counting And all of those designs are/were way lamer then the ASE!

Well, by so many people, including me, it's considered to be one of the most beautiful coin designs in "world" history.....let alone "American" history ! I'm not against letting it "end" after 25 years.....but a "design change", I would not be a fan of. (And JB is right....be careful what you wish for !...because the design change that we get, COULD BE A DISASTEROUS HORRIFIC LOOKING THING !)

I like the idea of changing the reverse (run thru all the reverse eagles thru US coins), but leave the obverse alone... I only say this cause I do like what Australia and China does with the Panda's, Kooks, Koalas, and Kangaroos.

Just wanted to add that this design was used for many years before the silver eagles were introduced. Let's not forget it was used from 1916 to 1947 on the Walking Liberty halves, a whopping 31 years! I think the silver eagle design could be a little more original and not have the recycled design. Take that plus the years on the silver eagle and you have 54 years of this design being used, although on different coins. As I have said before, its a beautiful design but I think its time for a change.
