How would a double-clipped planchet happen?

I'm not sure of the exact process, Celtic. I've got a few other double clips, mostly on older coins and tokens, and one on a 1974 Roosevelt dime that's in a PCGS slab. My best guess would be that the planchet doesn't get fully fed into the collar by the feed finger, and then as a result only gets partially ejected from the collar on the subsequent strike. Very cool, paralyse. First thing I did was to check to see if it was an FEV. I would like to add one of these to my collection eventually. I'll get a raw one because the graded ones always have crazy price tags.

I didn't think it was an FEV based on the strong brow line. If I found an FEV with a clip that would be even more awesome!

Paralyse, that was definitely a good purchase! Well worth the money too. A Clipped Planchet error happens, when the punch (the machine that stamps out the planchets from the sheet metal), overlaps a previously punched hole.
