I got an Ike 1972 Type 2 today. I was ready to do my happy dance thinking that I had finally completed my collection. Now, after reading this thread, I find out I need two more Ike', I think: A Peg Leg and a Talon Head Here is what I have in my collection. Callis74..the Mint mark from San Francisco can change in look due to die wear. A fresh new die shows a crisp S, and, a worn die shows dullness and lower relief. When you find coins of the same year, and look closely at the die state, this becomes evident. The MMS-002 mint mark used from 1974-1978 has the "block" look, compared to earlier years where one sees a more true looking traditional S. Hope this helps
