Jbuck- thanks for the info. I didn't think about that regarding the Red Book. I wasn't paying close attention. The Dansco album contains 32 places for the Ikes. So without the '72 varieties, it would be 32. I'm collecting my set as a mint state pcgs set, so it would bug me to have a 1972 type 1 without having the other 2 types. I am planning to collect other varieties to keep the set going. I am loving collecting these Ike's as a graded set. I've got 10 more to go.

I just noticed in a previous post that the '72 varieties are not included in the Dansco album. I thought they were. Hmmm.... And I have seen a "Friendly Eagle" variety by PCGS. I guess they just haven't updated their list?

My new acquisition 1972 S-Proof "Brown Ike" the R on the Liberty looks interesting what do you guys think, I'm new to this, also there are some minor scratches visible on ike's cheek not visible in the picture

Great posts. I just watched a WWII documentary on Ike. Man we need men like him today! I'm so glad we have these great commemoratives of him to collect.
