Hello everyone. I have grave news to tell all. Today at 6:00 am I was robbed yes robbed. You see I don't go to school around I live I go to New Jersey. We leave at 5:00 on the dot every day. When the police called at 9:00 this morning my whole family was shocked. Luckily the robbers didn't go down stairs and bother the dog who was in a crate. But they stole most of my mom's jewelry and sister's. They also stole my dads whatch collection. But the stole 100.00 dollars of my coins! They stole all my 3 morgans from which were not the best but still my silver eagles my silver once bar 10 rolls of mordern coins from 2006 which were meant to be sent to Diljuster and Metalman and they also stole 3 xbox games. But thank god they didn't find my other half of my collection which was on a table downstairs.
So poeple do any of you have tips whcih can help me protect my collection from this disater.

Man that really stinks. My garage was robbed twice lol. They only stole my dads tools. My advice to you is keep it in show boxes or something that someone wouldnt open. OR dont leave coins out.

Diljuster the rolls I aquired for you and metalman were the last ones from the bank so do you want just nickels rolls because the cent rolls are really hard to get! And Fengk the part of my collection that was stolen was in a meatl suitcase which looks like the bashed with hammers and other things but my room is a total mess I think they knew there was a coin collecter in my house so they attacked my room the hardest. And to top it off the took all my money which was 200.00 dollars and only left a buck with a note saying" heres a tip for all your stuff" I hate them and I hope they find the robbers I really do

Sorry to hear of your financial loss Bboy. Have the police found your sisters yet? I'll bet your parents feel this loss a lot more than you do your coins.

I'm really sorry for what happened, and I do not honestly think the thieves were pros,
A) Theives NEVER EVER leave notes, unless your a cat burglar which is different. B) They Knew you very well, they must've known where you keep your coins and that YOU were a collector, C) Was anything else battered about in your house, how did they infiltrate? D) Door, Window...
So... I honestly do hate for a collector to losing their collection, hope its not your entire one.
God find those criminals!

BuffaloBoy, Sorry for your loss. It sounds like they knew exactly what they were looking for. Here's a few tips to try to prevent this kind of thing from happening again. From your description it sounds like kids, probably your age or a little older. "Professional theives" don't leave notes to taunt you. My guess would be this is someone you know, probably in your neighborhood that you have told or that has heard about your collection. When we start a collection of anything valuble we like to tell others about our new found interest, unfortunatly this is not a good practice as there are always the few who have no morals and no qualms about taking it from you. Try to keep you coin collecting interest to yourself, sharing only with trusted friends and other collectors. I know this takes some of the fun out of collection but it will keep your collection safer.
Keep your collection in a safe place. If you cannot afford a large heavy safe (most cannot) buy a small fire safe and try to put it in a place where it cannot be found easily. Keep your ears and eyes open to anything you might hear or see about this robbery, probably being a few kids involved someone will start "bragging" about it. If there are any pawn shops close to where you live, check there often to see if any of your familys valubles show up there. Most theives are lazy and will sell there stolen items at the easiest place.Pawn dealers have to keep the names and address's from anyone they buy from. If you do see something in a pawn shop that is yours,do not confront the store owner. Just call the police and let them handle it. The police most of the time, do not have time to do an extensive search for items in a small robbery. You can help them out by listening and doing a little leg work yourself and check the shops.Again,NEVER CONFRONT SOMEONE YOU KNOW WAS INVOLVED OR HAS BOUGHT SOME OF YOUR ITEMS. CONTACT THE POLICE. Good Luck, I hope you are able to retrive at least some of your familys items Terry

I agree with kidcollector ... Real thieves would never leave a note, as it would have handwriting evidence, and also waste time that could be better used hauling more booty... You tick off any kids at achool lately?
