Poll Question
For the best coin and the best demand, which would you buy?(money is not a consideration)
A MS70 or PF70

Poll Choices
 A MS70 every time.
 A PF70 every time.
 Doesn't matter, their both excellent.
Cameo is the best for collecting.

Just my oppinion... MS70 is often kicked around but a true MS70 is nearly impossible in most series. Proof 70 is still a difficult grade and should not be taken lightly but it just doesn't have that amazing POW that a business strike at such a grade exhibits.

The only problem I "personally" have with the Uncirculated versions is that I'll never attain the MS-70 perfect grades because I never send out coins to be graded, and my personal "opinion" of a technical grade would never mean anything in the marketplace OR in my collection. It would "have" to be slabbed to have that obviously.

So.....then I'm left with just "my" opinion of beauty in this particular coin series....and that's always the Proof coins for me. The Proof ASE coins generally, at least, hold their value pretty well.

I know that you prefaced the topic with "money is not a consideration".....but I can't seperate my theory from this !
High or perfect MS grades are, of course, more coveted for "actual value"......but the trade off is an obvious choice for me on two major different factors, that I've already mentioned.
I would never buy a green monster box of ASE's and send em' off to be graded, in the hopes that one or two would come back with a MS70 grade.
Nor would I ever buy the Satin Finish Burnished Uncirculated ASE's from the Mint to do that.

Seperate from this.....I suppose I would consider purchasing an Unciculated dealer ASE in a perfect grade from a coin show or coin shop dealer, but this wouldn't be the "norm" for me, or my preference......it would just be to have a "perfect graded slabbed" ASE in my collection --- and "value" would be part of that consideration as well.

Another thing is you need to determine. If you are talking market wise (and I see no reason for a 70 if not unless building a Registry set)the company giving the 70's matter also because every TPG is not equal even though the coins should be. A 70 should be a 70 no matter what kind of plastic they are in but when you have 1 company that has 500 70's and another that only has 125 the one with the 125 is going to usually be higher in price for some reason. I think this is a game the TPGs play also because they know this. If you are building a NGC registry set then you could get NGC or PCGS coins to include in the registry set but if you are trying to build a PCGS registry set they all have to be in PCGS plastic and as a coincidence those are usually the ones that have the least 70's in their population reports
