Perhaps a California Fractional Gold Piece, or a replica of one. Does it have a bear on it? What is the design?

These are quite valuable when genuine however most raw pieces seen today are modern replicas.

My guess is this a replica.

Cal Gold depicting a bear is always a reproduction, usually gold plated but sometimes 8-10kt.

Not a fox or a pig but yes it is intended to be a bear.

Could be very nice but to determine authenticity, more details are needed, such as where it came from, etc. Lots of replicas on ebay etc.

If it's real, it's very cool. Let's hope it's real!

It's not. There is not real California Fractional that has a bear on it.
