I'm excited about this new addition to my Colonials sets... I've been anticipating getting it all week!
I paid modestly for it in comparison to other Nova Constellatio's that I've acquired, and what they seem to be going for these days...
I'm rather certain this is a Crosby 1-A (W-1860), based on the obverse die damage.
Per Whitman guidance (2009 pg.76), "The obverse die was damaged by another die falling on it, below center, leaving dentil impressions opposite STEL and ATIO. The lower right portion of the wreath is always lightly struck. As to whether W-1860 is a contemporary counterfeit, or an authorized issue by a different diesinker, is unknown."
I'd venture to say that this is somewhere around a VF20. Any thoughts?
