How much is a roll of non circulated 1978 bi Kennedy half dollars worth. two rolls are unopened and 1 roll I opened to see if what was in it, they all look to be in great condition and are all the same thing. There all d mint marks. Next I have 2 rolls of Eisenhower dollars (all dates) that are circulated but in good condition with just a few scratches. I also have a roll of Franklin half dollars 1962 and a roll of Mercury dimes (mostly 1938 and a mix of 1931, 1941, and (2) 1921 Sorry for all the questions, is there a book I can get that would be able to tell me what most of my coins are worth. I have many more, mostly Buffalo nickels and quarters. I found all these in my dads stuff a few years ago and I just want to keep adding to his collection so any help would be appreciated Thanks, Bryan

the frankies and the mercs are worth at least silver the others are worth face. You might get a little off ebay, though.

http://numismedia.com/fmv/fmv.shtmlThis is a good site, relatively overpriced in most series but it's mostly accurate. The Kennedy halves most likely aren't worth anything. The Ikes aren't really worth anything but can fetch up to $2 if sold individually. The roll of Franklins are worth about $130 and the Mercury dimes are approximately $60.

Did you say you have 2 1921 Mercury dimes? That's a rather valuable date.

Well, the Kennedy halves are worth face value, and someone might pay a buck or two over face, not much more. The Franklins would likely bring $130-145 in an ebay auction, BUT - could go for as low as $120 - as a roll did the other night. The dimes as mentioned could be pretty valuable. Ikes - maybe 2x face. The rest - well, we'd have to know what it is. PICS always help!

Welcom Bryan. The Official Red Book, A Guide Book of United States coins 2010, by R.S. Yeoman is a good guide. I say good because not only does it give approximate prices based on the grade (condition) of each coin and year, but also because it includes brief instructions on how to grade each coin type. It can be found, among other places, on Amazon. Here's a direct link to the book on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Guide-Book-Un...p/0794827667. With shipping it's about $17 bucks. You can probably pick it up at your local Barnes&Noble for about $17 bucks too. Good luck!

The RedBook prices can not be trusted but the other information in it is priceless for someone wanting to learn about coins. Susan (the co-owner) of this site usually gets some RedBooks each year and sells them to members here usually for less than you can get them at any book store. if you just want one for reference I have older copies that I will send you if you want. Please do not pay RedBook prices when you go out to buy coins because their price guide is not the best and there are allot better resources on line than a book that was made a year in advance. Any hard copy like this unless its updated pretty regularly like the grey sheet is not an accurate representation of coin prices because they change to often

I always tell people that the prices in the Red Book are about 2 to 4 years ahead of time. So if your really interested in a decent value for your coins, still purchase a Red Book, since full of fantastic information, but look around for a 2 to 4 year old edition. If you can't find one, just reduce any prices you see in there by about 20 to 25%. Not sure is Walmart stil has them but they used to be the cheapest place on line to buy the Red Book. The Walmart books web site. Also, some used book stores, coin sores, coin shows, etc.
