I may be going back to boxes after a whole year. Just went through another $800 in cwr, scored one rosie. THat makes 2 silvers from the last $1,600 in cwr's. I wonder if the tellers are leaving me just enough "bait" to keep me coming back, they havent had to ship out any dimes from 3 diff banks for the last year, thanks to me.

Well my night was made when my friend texted me saying he got some old dimes from a "stoner" at work kid came in and bought a blunt wrap with old change, my friend wouldn't take canadian so the kid pulled out 3 Mercury dimes! My friend knew nothing about them except that I collect. He came over after work and I bought them off him. Best part is that I informed him on the coins and their melt value (all they were worth and he said "just gimmie 2 bucks! Anyways 1918 S Good 4 1925 Good 4 1942 Fine but the obverse is dark, reverse looks really nice though anyways almost 8 dollars of silver for 2 bucks! Gotta love friends huh?

A sign of the times I guess. 1 silver 64 d. I've never had a full unopened box of halves before. I think I'll give that a try.

well they aren't really my finds lol because my friend grabbed them from his drawer at work, and they are kind of in rough shape. But I love the Mercury dime design. It is one of my favorites

finished a box of dimes, got 2 silver 1964 1956 proof proof is really shiny but there is a bit of scum on it. Cool find. Second silver proof I have found in circulation. 1962 and now a 1956 still waiting for the silver modern proof to show up

Good thing I've been doing decent on halves, because dimes here are boring. 2 boxes yesterday and nada.

How do you determine which dimes are proofs?

@pungod-they will have an S mintmark after 1968, or if before that they will have a mirror field. If you find a coin you think may be a proof its good to check to see if they actually made them then. I make that mistake every now and then.

Another $100 in dimes, another skunk. ARG. That's $300 with nada. I can smell a capped bust in the next the next roll!

Box #41: 1 silver 1926 Mercury She's pretty beat, but I'm still glad to find her. It's only my second Mercury dime, but it is my oldest find. It's funny because I edge search... and this was in the plastic rolls and when I saw the silver, I immediately thought it was a mercury. This one saved me from a 3 box skunk streak.
