I usually always dislike being the closing manager every single night, unless its on nights like these. Found a '64 D rosie as I was counting a til, put ten cents in, took 2.50 out (well, .10 cents out but 2.50 in silver value) :)

Had a pretty good week so far, the last box gave me a 48 and 49d. Also I bought a candy bar out of the machine at work and got a 63d in change!

shavill,,

no way! dump em out in your hand like a log... scan for silver, then gently slide them back in the open paper roll. takes me 15 seconds at LEAST per roll.

murell,

i dont mind telling, ya since I live in north county.. its a chase branch. heavily populated with businesses so they get a TON of coin... I dump at another chase branch up the road...

I think I'm too lazy with dimes and maybe I miss some. I just scan the edges.

And I don't use chase, so you have no worries there. I use wells fargo, and I have been trying to find patterns with how busy banks are and what I get, but I seem to be finding no correlation. I do like bigger branches though because it is easier to buy coins, they don't mind as much. I think I'm gonna get 2 boxes of nickels and a box of dimes today.
Rest in Peace

The best way to determine how busy a bank is involves standing in the lobby, within close view of the tellers, just out of camera range.

Since hoodies and shades are out of fashion in bank wear, a trenchcoat with the collar up is a good outfit.

Best counts can be seen at opening and closing. To synchronize your notes, be sure to ask a teller every few minutes for the exact time.

Fredd, I don't know what to say, but that made me laugh so hard. Thanks, lol.

And nice finds monk. I'm surprised that after 60 or 70 boxes, I only have 3 mercs. Hmm

Bought a box and as the teller walked to me she said "Oh, shiny dimes". I was a little bummed walking to my car thinking they were new but then I looked and they weren't. I guess she just thinks dimes are shiny. anyways,

Box #71:

1954 d
1962 d

1990 5 pence

2002 Lincoln Cent

The bank I get my halves from will also order me boxes of dimes.

They had a box recently I picked up. The dimes were from Brinks and were in clear, plastic wrappers. I quickly saw there was no silver and then had $250 worth of dimes I never unrolled. I took them to my CU and cashed them in there. It seemed odd, even to me, that a non-business was bringing in dimes in such a manner.

Heck, I was skunked on the first box but may try two more this week just to see how it turns out.
