I plan on returning my two boxes of halves tomorrow morning and plan to actually try two boxes of dimes this week.
I did get one box from the same bank a few weeks ago just for the heck of it and they were also in clear rolls. So, does anyone find silver in the clear rolls from Brinks? I hope so seeing how my halves are now evidently coming from someone else dumping theirs (not exactly how Brinks gets their coins or how they process them).

Personally, I've never had luck with the clear Brinks rolls. Normally I will avoid them, exchange, or flat out refuse them.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...

Finished up 60 rolls that I had last week on Friday, but I never had time to post my results, there really wasn't much to report anyway, it was pretty dull.
First 60 rolls:
Silver: (0)
Canadian: (2)
1995
1999
I went and dropped those off on Saturday morning and picked up 60 more rolls to fill the void and that was a least a little more exciting

That broke a 3 box skunk streak for me, which was great. Won't have time to pick any more rolls up until tomorrow, but I'm hoping they are like the last bunch!

I hope I don't hurt anyone's feelers here but I just don't get why people enjoy doing dimes. I've been doing some, if for no other reason than to find some 90% silver (which has been hard to come by via halves). But I've seen several people post about how they enjoy dimes. I must be missing something. I go through every coin, just to look for the 80 or 82 missing MM, die alignment errors, and to make sure I don't miss silver (and I've found one I would have missed if edge searching). But those are so far and few between that dimes are more work than fun for me. Am I missing something or do I just have different 'taste' in coin roll hunting? BTW, I found my standard 1 Roosevelt dime in the last 2 boxes I've done. Its always 0, 1, or 2. OO |

I agree. I did look through all of mine and found no silver. I did find the proof id mentioned earlier. While my brother was happily finding Wheats here and there I spent my afternoon in uttern pain. :(

I just edge search, look for things out of the ordinary and move on. I suppose when I put together my Dansco's for them that will change, but for the most part the better AU/BU coins are apparent from the rims as well. |

1 Canadian dime with a hole in it towards the edge, like for a string

I edge search and have found at least 1,000 silver Roosevelts, 100+ mercs, 100+ silver canadians, errors, clad and silver proof dimes, a half-dozen Barbers, foreigns, clips, etc...I've never date-searched and almost never re-roll. That's why I enjoy searching dimes as a collector. I like searching halves too, but it's quite boring and the finds and silver varieties just aren't there for me like dimes. waiting on my supermarket friend, he has a 1000 dollar bag of dimes hopefully for me to buy in the meantime 1 box had nothing in it

The contents of the micro sd might be the most interesting thing in the find.
I would definitely pop it into an adapter, load it, and see what you may have found.
This being said, I would also make sure I had a solid anti-virus running. :)

FistFull, That's impressive (and interesting). What is you largest silver find(per box/bag)? What about your 'best' box?

owassokie- I do understand why it would seem boring if searching each coin. I search coins almost exclusively for silver, occasionally take my time with nickels or pennies if bored I get a box of them. But for dimes it is the second best provider for silver behind halves and for me and many others I assume, it is hard to get halves where I am, so dimes are much easier. I actually work at a smaller bank, and we cant order halves, but I take a bag of dimes ($1000) from our counter each week and search them.
So far, 5, 7, 12 silver dimes for the last 3 bag counts. So definitely providing silver for me, whereas quarters just are too easy to see so even common people pull them.
