Did around $110 in dime rolls this afternoon with the majority being CWR. No silver anywhere, but I did come out .50 ahead seeing how some rolls had an extra dime.
Also have this really nice dark blue button. Just my opinion, but the chances of the button being accidental are slim. This being said, the roll was only off .10 and a lot of the other rolls had extra as I have already mentioned.
I have $500 in clear Brinks rolls coming in tomorrow afternoon. Should be pretty easy to edge search using one of my trusted Bausch & Lamb (spelling?) magnifying glasses. I find using the magnifying glass when searching dime roll edges helps eliminate a lot of the mid-tone calls caused by dirty silver.

I saw a question on Canadian dimes here earlier. I believe the following is correct:
1967 and before = 80% Silver Content
1968 = 50% Silver Content
To my recollection, 1968 was the last year of common silver circulated dimes in Canada.

For the 1968's, I test with a magnet, but the color is usually the giveaway. When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...

Thanks for the clarification on the Canadian dimes. I will make not seeing that I have two boxes
and may run into some today.
BTW, I have read that Canadians often look like silver when edge searching but often do not turn out
to be so.

I find on average 20-30 canadian dimes per $250 box of US. I find about 10-15 silver canadians a year, after awhile you can tell the silver from non-silver just by the edges. I find quite a few 1968's, and one out of 10 is silver.

Considering the CAD has been stronger than the USD in recent history, you could do ok with the exchange rate. 1 CAD = 1.0115 today but it has been quite a bit stronger.

Its funny that we're talking about canadians, last night while edge searching I found a different looking silver edge. I thought maybe I found another merc but it was a different lady. As I poured it out I saw a young looking Elizabeth II with a ribbon in her hair. I knew it was old. Flipped it over and saw the date 1960! I believe it was my first "silver" canadian!

I'm still new to dime roll searching, but everytime I see those whitish rims and then find out it's a Canadian dime I get a little bummed, the newer ones are pretty obvious. I haven't developed the ability to determine the Silver from the Canadian.....yet. Let alone the silver Canadians!
Fistfull, where do you live (state, not specific area, heck even tri-state area if you don't want to give anything away)? 20-30 is A LOT of Canadian dimes in one box! I'm lucky to get 3 per box, and I'm in North Dakota, I figured I'd be right in the wheelhouse for Canadian Dimes, the nickels are everywhere, but so far the dimes are proving to be more elusive then their 5 cent brethern, of course I've only done 7 boxes, so not a large sample size.

Hi BabyJ, I'm aways west of Detroit, and have found over 100 silver Canadians over the last few years, oldest being a 1900 Victoria. My find rate is about 1 per $1,000 I believe. I've also dug a dozen Canadian oldies dirtfishing in the last 2 years including an 1871 quarter. They are out there!  When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...

That's a pretty nice pile of Canadian Silver there!! I think what it comes down to is just more volume, which is always fun! I've debated getting a good metal detector, any reccommendation on that front? Do the detectors that identify specific metals work accordingly or is it pretty much hit and miss? Your thoughts would be much appreciated. Again, GREAT finds!!

I just wanted to say congratulations to all the recent posters that have just found their first Canadian dimes or first silvers. Way to go!
