Just returned from trading 100$ worth of rolled junk in exchange for 50$ in dimes, and split the rest between quarters, nickels, and my favorite...pennies!

Thanks bigfredd! After I posed the question I was curious if there was a detecting forum and sure enough there was. After doing some digging on there, I saw the recommendations were the Garret Ace and the minelab for that decent mid level detector. With the Ace being about $400. Which is more up my alley. At least to start! Just what I need.....another hobby!!!

Okay, I got my two boxes of dimes from my bank this week.
They were from Brinks and were in clear wrappers. Absolutely no silvers in it whatsoever.
I have now done a total of three Brinks boxes from this bank and I also did around $110 in rolls from other
banks this weekend as well with most being CWR. There were no silvers at all in any of them.
So, I am becoming a bit jaded with coin searching this past month. Seems the halves I am getting are dumps from
someone else, and I think the machine that rolls the dimes in the clear rolls must be kicking out silvers.
Not sure if I am going to try another two boxes of dimes, two boxes of halves, or just try to find other
banks which may order the dimes in the paper rolls.

very nice SD, if only mine was one of those haha, but never thought I'd find a mercury period, so when I saw the ender I practically lost it in excitement

@mercerydime. I have only ever had luck with dimes. Quarters are so hard to find. Unless you roll search in the same city as me, in which case quarters are the only way :-) jk

I did not know Brinks rolled Coinstar dimes. There are a ton of Coinstar machines in my area,
and they do indeed kick out silver dimes. A few weeks back I was at Walmarts and saw a dime just
laying on top of the Coinstar machine. I picked it up and saw a date of 1964. :)
Thanks for the information there. If I decide to do more dimes I will ask from First Federal,
or another bank, which gives me paper rolled dimes when I ask for them.
