Quote: I just found a 1968 canadian dime in a roll and I see online here that in '68 there were some that were Nickel and some 50% silver. This one seems to be silver.. It looks white and sounds like silver. Is this a common coin to find in rolls? I find one silver '68 per about 7 plain ones. You are right, there is a slight color difference with silver. Nice find.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72

Quote: Nickel doesn't stick to a magnet either tho... Pure nickel is magnetic. Cupro-nickel is not. I am not sure about the purity of the nickel dimes though.

@jbuck, Canadian nickel dimes were 99.9 percent nickel, so yes they stuck to magnets, same with nickel quarters.

After getting home and looking at my 2 1968 canadian dimes under magnification I realized that one of them is actually a 1963! even at the ripe old age of 25 I guess my eyes arent what they used to be. So that means I have a 50% and an 80%! Awesome. I need another box to search! I think the silver bug bit me.

I'm new to dime searching and I was wondering if there were any dates or varieties, other than the silver and 2009s that I should look out for.
P.S. Just went through $30 and no silver nor proofs nor anything.

well, after a brief hiatus, pending my low budget, wasn't able to get any coins for a while. even had to delay picking up my box that came in on monday! box 3 since March:
1x 1959-d Choice BU!
i can see the top band and the bottom is gone, nearly there. I'm happy with rescuing only ONE today.

Awesome Swiss 1/2 Frank! I'm pretty sure that's silver by the way.
