I just pick a stack and check for silver on the edges. Or I slide them over each other and le them fall off the table into my hand. Then I dump them from that hand into other as a second check. The last method relies on sound. It's the fastest way to bang out a 1000$ bag. I am also visually scanning as I slide them around and off the table looking for proof or foreigns. I am only into silver dimes for the most part. Nickels halves and pennies are different

If you get your dimes from a bank with clear plastic wraps, you don't even have to unwrap them to do a silver search.

I buy bags when I do dimes. They were low on my list until early this year. When I hit a bag with 46 silvers, it changed my tune. I will see if I can find bank with clear wrappers. I figure if I can go through a bag in 1.5 hours or less its easier than unwrapping 4 boxes. But your point about clear wrappers is good. But others have said you can miss one. I may give it a shot since I am cutting out pennies. Will eliminate several bags of pennies per week, so more time to try other things. Clear wrappers may be one of them. Thnx

Well, went through a $250 box and found nothing. Exchanged it at the bank and got another box, which yielded nothing again. I think I will go back to my comfort zone of small cents for a while.

Ran through $1k in cwr, found 5 silver rosies. Also, an oddity, 17ea. 1965-67 SMS Roosevelts, beautiful mirrored fields, I just had to put them away!
