Searched three MWR today. Nothing special. Oldest coin was a 1967 in poor condition. Newest coin was a shiny new 2015-D. Most coins were 1998-2002 and dirty/worn in all three rolls.

Your bag average is 4, how many bags have you done?
I'm averaging 5 per bag, but the lowest was 1.

@Allfome

I have gotten my hands on 26 bags of dimes since the beginning of last year. Found 96 silver dimes. 3.7 avarage. Most I have found in a bag was 10 and lowest amount in a bag was 1. I have never been skunked in a bag of dimes but I have been on a more than 4 box skunk in dimes multiple times.

Most I have found in a box was 29. But I have gone without finding nothing in dime boxes four consecutive times many times.

I like dime bags its easy to get and also easy to dump. I am still waiting to find my mega bad of at least 30 or more here soon. Its coming.

Where do you get boxes of dimes? I assume you aren't going into a bank and asking for enough rolls to fit in a box?

The boxes are how bulk rolls are delivered from the Fed via carriers to the banks.

Thanks for the quick response. And I apologize for asking this as a newbie, but let's say I'm interested in doing this, what would I say to the bank teller? Is there a specific dollar amount of dimes I'd have to ask for, or ask for a box?

I've built a good rapport with most of my pickup banks and my dump banks. Ive shown them my albums I am trying to complete and that lets them know why I do it. And every time I showed them they said I will be on the look out for you.
When I walk in they say "The usual?" Yes please. Thank you.

Never, ever apologize for asking questions! Answering them is what we are hear to do.

Yes, just walk in and say you need a box of dimes. A box of dimes is $250, fifty rolls of fifty dimes. They may have it on-hand, they may need to order it.

mellamo,

Don't do it...Don't start looking through coin rolls! If you do it, you'll be addicted to CRH-ing like the rest of us...Unable to think of anything else!

Haha berto, I have done CRH-ing before, just never thought to do it to that scale. I always assumed the bank tellers would hassle you if you are asking for such a quantity of dimes, just to come back and return the majority of them. Do you go back to a different bank with a change auto-counter? I think it would take me years to spend that kind of cash in dimes.

carloscoria have you ever talked to your dump bank about bagging your coins?
My pick up bank manager asked me what I did with the coins when returning them. I told her I used a different bank with a coin machine, she told me that she would set it up with her tellers to give me the bags and to return the coins in the bags. Saves me a ton of time.

I pick up from 2 banks now and will have to add a third soon due to one being sold.

Thanks for sharing the bag information, I don't see many people posting results from bags.
Good luck to all.
