finished box #2 for the week
not as fun as box #1 or many of the other boxes I have gotten
but I'll never complain about getting silver
1964D
plus my little sister sent me a facebook message she is in middle school
walking down the hall she saw a dime on the floor picked it up
needless to say this is what she sent me
"Hey I found a silver dime, it's year is 1957 if you want it I'll sell it to you."

what a weasel! lol I am gonna give her a buck or two to use in the vending machine
at school but I thought it was funny that her hearing about me searching and stuff
immediately messages me and offers to sell it to me
Also I checked with her on the phone it's a 57P meaning another hole filler!

well the rest of my $500 wasnt so great,

just a lonely 46-s

i also had $30 in miswrapped coin: dimes on the end with pennies!!

i found 1 of those in the $180 I had last week.. I figured, o well one or two...

but this time, 6 more rolls! I went back to the bank and they couldnt do anything for me. I understand the risk with CWR.. but there comes a point when the tellers need to do a better job spotting these fake rolls...so I endued up taking quite a hit, from the bank no less... looks like I'm going to be using them as my dump bank...

oh and when I did dump my $640 I exchanged it with $200 more... the teller hadNO problem with me doing this, as I had once previously thought rude...

ended up with

i just don't get it! this will be the 3rd box I will go through of dimes with nothing from 2 different banks! I have about 16 plastic brinks rolls left out of 100. I'm getting a little discouraged.

andrew you seem to do really well with the jfks so I wouldn't complain too much. bad hunting karma.

I'm kind of the opposite. I never find the silver jfks, but find dimes all the time. I average 2 per box, and last week I went through 3 boxes and got 7.

secondly, the brinks clear wraps from my experience tend to have fewer per box, but I'm sure some of this depends on luck and locale.

i'd like to also note that I have never been skunked by a non-clear wrapped box,
so that's something to think on.

interesting. that sucks, andrew. try mixing it up and getting away from the clear wraps is all I can say. also, try going to your credit union and getting customer rolled dimes. I've had slightly higher averages with those.
I've found about 1 silver dime per 100 dollars searched with those, which places the average for CWR searching just above the box average. of course, I've also gotten 100 dollars worth of someone's dump, so it isn't always golden.

i myself just bought 6 boxes of JFKs and got nothing. absolutely nothing. not even an 87.

ob.

i always say, stick with what you are good at. if its dimes, stay with dimes, if halves, stay with halves.. thats wht I did. and instead of getting skunks with halves, I have almost a full roll of dimes. took me 4 months, but I didnt quit my day job.. not bad for part time if you ask me. and, when I get that 50th dime, I'm selling the silver and going to buy myself a nice coin
