i think that one of the theories behind why they stink, location being one of them, is that since the wrappers are clear, people and myself included think there is a point at which they are wrapped and then boxed where someone can clearly see the white edges and nab them before they are shipped. HOWEVER, this may just be paranoia and everything may be handled by machines, I dont know. again, truly I think it is LUCK. and we are seeing less and less because of tellers catching it before it even gets to the sorting facilities.

well I'm going to disagree. I've done tons of dimes and it really does seem that brinks has the worst return. given that several other people say this also, there must be at least a correlation between low find rates and brinks.,

I search Nickels, dimes, and halves. The halves are easy, the nickels yield alot of pre 1960 coins, but I don't get much from dimes. Also my eyes really strain. I need to get a big freestanding magnifying glass or something. I haven't had much luck with anything lately. I will keep at it though.

Picked up 4 rolls of dimes at my tiny hometown bank over the Thanksgiving weekend while visiting the folks, and found a nice 1962 silver dime in there! Woohoo. (Wish I found a silver dime in EVERY four rolls I searched..!)

I must be under a Wells Fargo curse! 2 boxes of dimes (500 bucks total) and not one stinkin lousy silver coin. I've also been through about 1,500 in Wells Fargo Kennedy halves and not ONE silver half.

All part of the game Phil, all part of the game.....I haven't pulled a silver half from a box since this spring. I was buying a couple boxes a month to test the waters, then I quit. Cold calling produces much better luck for me. That and dimes.

Keep at those dimes and halves. I skunked out on over 6K in halves and gave them up for 6 months out of frustration but now I'm pulling about 2 40%ers a box on average.
