Timmy - Try a few different banks. It's amazing how different suppliers seem to have different amounts of silver.

Will do Gothic. I mainly search rolls that I buy to put into the register at my store so I use the bank where the business account is.... regions As I go to this bank every morning it is just easiest to get rolls from there. But I am branching out and hope to find some silver! I really might concentrate my roll searching to dimes as I think it would be awesome to run across a merc dime still in circulation. Thanks again.

So yesterday I searched about 20 rolls and found zip. Afterwards I bought a hotdog from a stand and in the change was a 1941 Merc. AWESOME!

I tried my hand at a box of dimes today. Skunkeroo. Unless you call one 5 pence 2003 and one Canada dime 2006 a major score.
I will probably try one per week for little while, just to see what I am missing!

Got skunked today. I searched $150 in cwr and did not find a single decent dime. Oh well, there is always next week!

The best way to get silver in dimes is to search VOLUMES! When I go on a road trip I usually take 20 large with me. I only need to hit 3 banks or so, to pick up 2 grand worth of customer rolled dimes. The less gas and time used, the better.

I had a personal goal to find 5 Mercury dimes this month, and I am proud to say it happened! I searched an extremely frustrating $1000 in dimes. $775 in brinks pvc tubes, $225 in customer wrapped. Only found a '64 and 1940 merc.

I was killing it in terms of dimes last year. This year it's been like a cold shower. My average was one silver every $100 or so last year. This year? One every $400. Ouch.

I still get about 2 per box. I was at a bank the other day talking to my favorite teller. She said she was slow and went through a box of quarters. She found 26 silver coins and 6 were standing liberties. So I got a box thinking maybe there was a silver vein running. I got nothing. Typical for me. Oh well, next time.

I highly suspect there's a nice vein of silver quarters somewhere in the greater Philly area thanks to a nickel and dime bag I got off a machine... the dimes yielded 60 silvers in $600, and the nickels yielded 5 war nicks and several rolls of pre-60 nickels. Like, 5 rolls. The quarter bag was replaced and shipped out earlier that day... ugh.
I'm willing to bet there was at least a roll of silver quarters in there.
