Everything I was gonna say was said by the last 6 posters. Spot on for most roll searchers I'd say.

You guys are insane. I'm in it for the money!
Kidding, it's all about the fun. Haven't done dimes in a while...averaged about 1.5 per for every 2 boxes. I'm back on the nickel and cent kick lately. i'll hit dimes again soon though.

Yep it's all about that cheap, short-lived thrill that I get finding a silver rim. I've done this steadily for over three years, and could probably buy silver dimes for less than it costs to roll hunt and dump...but where's the fun in that?
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72

It's definitely for the fun of it!! I have banks pretty close to the house so I'm not wasting gas. And I know the euphoric feeling their talking about!! But its not just about the silver. The o9's are fun to find as are the proofs, and the oddball things you find. I enjoy talking to the people at the banks and reading the posts on here. It really is like a community.

This is one of my best weeks everrrrrrr. Did 3 Boxes and pulled these, its a 2 per box avg, Hallelujah! 5 Rosie's and 1 1953 Silver Canadian. I almost threw it into the foreign box until I noticed the obverse looked like a young queen, flipped it over and wallah 1953! Ill take it :)

My first ever box of dimes got me a 1952-D and a 1946 with tons of luster. Not bad for a first box.

$170 CWRs down silver: 2 - 1946, 1962-D Hole Filler only 31 left to go... 7 canadians 199? extreme Greaser btw: thought I should mention this: after we went to the bank to get the rolls, my mom had to go to the store so I stayed in the car and just looked for silver. I planned to get back home and search the rest. so I found the 46 there and was glad, and dumped the loose coins in the container holding the rolls to search later for dates and errors. so I get back home and start searching the loose first and I find a 1962D silver I MISSED! good thing I checked again! just another reason to search the hole roll

First box ever (and post..):
Found 2 silvers in there, plus countless 2009s. 1942 merc and 1956 roosevelt. Pretty nice looking, will snap pics if I remember. This could get addicting.

went through box one of two for the week 2 silver 1946 1949 HOLE FILLER I hate to say it but...13 holes left I was going to keep this one out of the dansco until I got another hole filler so I would jump over 13 holes. I thought if the dansco didn't know I might be able to pass the bad luck. We will see how long it takes to pass 13 left! I am just missing the S mints from the 40s which I thought was going to happen. Still in need of all the 55 coins as well. I will write a list of my holes after I search the other box I have.

Hey jsilvers, Wow find a Merc on your first box is impressive. Its been a while since I've gotten one. I would say from my finds and what I've heard from others, 2 per box is about right. Good luck and don't get discouraged by a bad box or two.
