"Osterreich" is the German name for the country we call "Austria".

I'm not American, so my opinions on US coinage designs aren't really relevant.

But since you asked... personally, the dime is one of the few US "silver" coins that doesn't have an eagle on it - I'd prefer to keep it eagle-free. Further, the bird on the Austrian coin is an Imperial Eagle, native to Europe; the Bald Eagle has a slightly different profile when looked at right up close like that; from what I can tell on the Wikipedia pics, it's head feathers are "fluffier".

Well Sap.We don't need no stinkin' fluff.Hahah. I lived in Oz for 8 years and I had a wonderful time but...Eagles eat joe'es in Oz.That looks like a bad butt eagle on that coin.Watched one of your eagles in Coffs Harbor pick up a cat.Kitten, anyway we used them for bait. I thing that is a very majestic eagle on that coin.Bet it could pick a koala from a tree at the horse races in Brisbaine.

Ah well, with heraldic birds such subtle differences do not really matter. Don't think that the Austrian (or German or Polish etc.) eagles represent a specific bird. Then again, the Austrian eagle in its entirety would probably not be appreciated in the US: It has a hammer, a sickle and broken chains ...
