i think I got a good deal but wanted yalls opinion, I agree with the seller, I think EF40 and I like the tone. do you think I got a good deal and what do you think the coin is worth

Its a beautiful coin and I think you might have got it at about 10% - 15% below book.

It looks nice, but I would be wary of purchasing from that seller since he has a boatload of artificially toned coins. I would have your local dealer examine it for originality. It IS a very beautiful coin though, and if naturally toned, you got a great deal! SLQs are great coins!

LOL - I bid on this coin too! I've bought a couple of SLQ's from this seller - no issues, but mine weren't toned. I'm wary of toning due to so many stories of artificial and my lack of knowledge to detect it.

BTW - I think you got a good deal........I wasn't available to snipe or I'd have gotten it! LOL.

I would also be wary of the artificial toning for reasons stated above, chances actually are that it is because he has a history of it. Post pics when you get it.

I don't think there is an exact method to determine if a coin is AT or NT. Besides the suspected artificial toning, great coin. I've been looking for one of those for a while.
