Wow calaveras420 a great buy for $10! And a very good start for an international collection. As for overloading? Overload, overload. I'm particularly interested in the Thai coins you got. Post pics and I'll try to ID them for you. Would also love to see some of the banknotes you got too. You could post them on the International Banknote and Paper Money forum here.

I think you should consider starting a collection of world coins. You are off to a good start with that haul for sure.

Darn, the 1888 20 pfennig alone is worth a lot more than $10.

Thats a great bunch of coins, could't ask for better for just $10! If you wanted to sell the Palestine coins, message me I'm sure i'd be able to pay you more than $10 for those as I'm collecting that series at the moment

Great bunch of coins, you did well. I particularly like coins with holes and I haven't seen one with a "G" hole before. Actually it looks more like a token, I can't see it all. Steve

Quote: ...What should I pull and slab? If you mean "send off to a TPG", then there's not much really there that's worth the cost of slabbing, so unless you're owed some freebies and don't have any good US coins to send, there's not many individual coins here that would benefit from it. Maybe the 1886 20 pfennig and the better grade Palestine 2 mils. The one with "10 groszy 1840" is from Russian-occupied Poland, and might be worth grading, too; there's an obscure variety with that date mentioned in Krause that's worth extra money. If you're curious about identifying anything in particular, post it here and we can have a go at identifying them. On your 10th pic (the one with all the "Arabic" coins) the ones with the lion holding a sword are from pre-Revolutionary Iran, and most of the others are from pre-Revolutionary Iraq. The shiny one at bottom centre appears to be from one of the Indian states. Quote: ...I haven't seen one with a "G" hole before. Actually it looks more like a token... That would be an American transport token; I can see the word "Lines" as in Bus or Railway Lines.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

If the Russian-Poland 10 groszy of 1840 has MW letters below the eagle, then it's the common one and I'd say not worth slabbing. There are many of them (of this particular date) in higher grades (EF/AU). That's what it looks like here, the situation may be different in the US, though.
Our local catalog says: 1840 - MW - common 1840 - WW - much less common, "R5" designation
Also, check the mintmark (below eagle) on the German Empire 20 pfennig 1888.

DL20K: Yeah, the 10 grozy is the MW variety... And the 20 Pfennig mint mark is EE Sap: When I said slab I meant put in a protector. Most of the coins are loose right now. I'm just wondering if it's worth organizing or should I leave them loose? Also any tips on or links on organizing them? All my US stuff is in tubes and altoids tins :-p Thanks much you guys, You've been a big help. I'll post a couple more pics later tonight and I'll make a thread in the paper money forum and link it here.

calaveras420- Awesome! I was not too convinced that this was such a good deal by the first couple of pics, but when I saw that Palestinian hoard I then knew that you had hit it out of the park. Coins of Palestine are not easy to come by and those 2 20 mils coins are probably worth $15 a piece! Congrats!
