I would like to get your thoughts on the grade and the toning. The coin was in what appears to be an old 2x2 and is simply marked UNC

I added another pic of the reverse showing the toning. I don't necessarily think the toning is AT but the reverse has me

I would like to know if the resident LWC and toning experts think the toning cou

Thanks,

The toning looks cool, but I'm not qualified to know if it is natural.

But isn't that a very good strike for that year?

I would give it a MS63. Higher if not for the spots and the toning looks natural to me being in a 2x2 for many years.Good strike. What is that on the reverse bottom rim? Cud?

Man, I would love to say MS65 on this one; pretty coin! I'll go with MS64.

Will the spotting lower a coin's grade?

Really hard to tell on these pics with the toning. That left wheat ear appears to have some slight wear on the top grains. Powering up the magnification, it looks like a slight rub over the ear. This could be the strike but I suspect it would come back high AU.

Cool looking Lincoln! I love the rainbow head. I think I see a trace of wear and the rims are a little bumped up for an MS coin. The carbon spots appear fuzzy, like copper formate. If they are, it could be a sign of an old cleaning and explain the odd toning. Nonetheless, it's a cool looking coin!
