My guess (and it really is a guess) would lean first towards some sort of gas bubble in the copper plating. It does look kinda like a die clash too, but doesn't seem to be any other indication of that anywhere else on the reverse. And WELCOME! Report this Post to the Staff
coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 03/21/2010 03:37 am Heavy Die Clash and heavy polishing to try to cover the clash. You can see the neck and the bottom of the jaw present yet on your coin. The columns have been polished out the the fields and the deep devices are are blending together.
