Hey,
Just purchased this Mercury dime. I don't know the grade but know the cost. Can you guys tell me what grade/condition you think this is in? and how much you think it costs?

Thanks!

I am not very good at this series but 1944 is a common date, I just sold a MS-66 for $17.00 on ebay a few weeks ago

I just bought this on ebay so I don't have pics of the rev. Based on the obverse, what would you grade it?

I would give it an AU-55 from the one picture we got. (That could easily go up or down as more pictures appear...)

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but a point needs to be made.

If you don't know the grade or the value, how did you decide how much to pay for it?

Edited main post with reverse picture.

Superdave: I have graded it according to myself and based my purchase price off that. I just want to compare with others.

The reverse has plenty of luster for a mint state coin, so maybe it could make MS-63 or so. The obverse has enough small marks to preclude any higher grade IMO. The central bands are incomplete, so no FB designation.

As Bryan mentioned this is a common coin and in low mint state it's only worth a dollar or two over bullion value. I'd probably pay $2.00 for a coin like this but I'd pass at, say, $4.00.

Thank you, and nicely spoken. I posted that as much for the benefit of others reading this thread as yourself; sounds like you've made a good decision.
