I guess I am hooked on commemorative dollars. ( I am thinking, about the same as Jbuck is on Ike dollars, which I like too). Not sure if anyone else is actively trying to collect all or most of these beautiful coins. Please post any new commemorative coins you are buying ..or maybe just your favorite one. Also any questions you may have or interesting facts. I will start ... couple months ago I purchased a 1992 Olympic BU dollar. Right off I noticed it has edge engraving "XXV OLYMPIAD" it repeats 4 or 5 times. Has anyone seen this or know anything about it?

I may as well post these two also. I stopped into a coin shop in the next town over, They had these two in 2X2's, no boxes. They were $18 each and I did not have them yet. 1987 Constitution Proof 1989 Congress Proof

Beautiful coins! I currently have four commemorative dollars. Three are in Prestige Proof Sets (1988 Olympic, 1990 Eisenhower, and 1991 Mt. Rushmore). The fourth is in my Lincoln Coin and Chronicles set. I am about to add a fifth one with the BSA commemorative. I always intended to get a second Eisenhower commemorative for the 7070, but I have not done so at this time. I will not break apart the Prestige sets since they have sentimental value as such.

Nice coin AMFCook,
I just ordered mine this week, I waited so I could get both DAV and BSA at same time and save a little on the shipping. I bought them in BU ...

Here is the Modern Comm. Silver Dollar I picked up recently for my US type set. I really like the design on both coins (silver dollar and $5 gold) and will probably pick up the $5 Smithsonian Gold Comm. for my modern gold commemorative slot. Scratches as usual are on slab.

Another great looking bunch of coins. Are there a lot of people collecting United States coins in Australia?

I am not really sure, I know when I have been to coin shows here there seems to be quite a lot of people purchasing United States coins but the problem is most dealers charge to much for them. However that said I still love buying them, they are by far my favourite country to collect from. Here are my Half dollar commemorative's 1982 George Washington's 250th birthday 1986 Ellis Island 1991 Mount Rushmore Anniversary
